My life....let me tell you a little about my life...for as long as I can remember my life with I'm alright Jack has been spent ONE way......and we've been together a while!

This photo is my life.......by water be it here in the US or home in the UK, in france, Spain or Portugal, my life is.....staring into the margins.....looking....looking....staring and squinting........hoping for signs of CARP!

So this my friends is a reflection of my life sometimes it's holding hands, sometimes not, sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it's rainy, sometimes there is carp, sometimes there is no signs at all, but all the time it's happy!

Sky....

I just wanted to show you a few of the sights we've had over the past two weeks staying in Sodus Point, NY

Because we were staying at a house on Lake Ontario the views as the sun was setting were just beautiful.







We even walked out to the lighthouse early on evening .....





MMMMM its a dream place and if the waterboard alters the lake levels as they may be doing, Sodus Point will be lost forever, its so sad as it not only is a beautiful place its full of beautiful people, the community are so welcoming and it make me just sooo mad!



We've now spent 2 seperate weeks at the lake in different rentals and the people we rented from were wonderful and the neightbours were great too.

I'm now going to see if there is a group to join to SAVE SODUS POINT!

Last week I had the In-laws arrive along with their friends, both the boys are avid Golfers - and with the LPGA here we saw alot of the Womens golfers.....mainly in the Cheesecake factory a fave hangout of ours and apparently pro golfers!!!

BUT the main place they wanted to see was Oak Hills golf club host to the PGA's I think!!!

So off I troll in my lil blue Crysler to find it fo them...only I couldn't, I know the right area and we knew we we around the golf club as we could see it through the gardens of all the beautiful houses (because they have NO FENCES!!!) .....but find the entrance? nope....so I took a group of dissapointed folks back home!

We eventually found it the next day (via looking for exact address on the internet and use of a Sat nav!)

It was beautiful and the staff v friendly and welcoming, three shirts purchases later and we were having tea overlooking the course, but the tea was awful! and the coffee aparently not much better!
No wonder they hide it away on the maps, good golf....but head to starbucks for your coffee!

Ok so I know I've already got 101 dresses to wear to the wedding in July in the UK, but I spotted this I wasn't shopping for myself.....but I just happened to try it on....looks better on and I have a slight tan from lazing by Lake Ontario........

how to hook a man!

Not last week but the week before (I'm a bit behind on my posts - lack of regular internet meant I had to use the time well and work shame!)
Well we were fishing...'I'm alrights' friend 'The lean mean carping machine' was over from the UK, he had just spent a week at a friends lake in France and caught 20 carp in the week he was there.

He touch down here after the game on Friday...and after waiting 4 hours on the runway at JFK (thats 24 hours awake), was deperate for sleep and to get fishing at the rental we had booked for the week at Sodus Point, NY - so off they go at lunchtime the next day for carp fest 2008.

We followed later, that is me and 'baby earls', the place although a faulous outlook onto Sodus Bay, was a little in need of a renovation, both me and 'baby earls' got spooked the first night, too many horror movies on his part, overactive imagination and the carping machine winding us both up!
Oh my, its bad enough seeing the school buses everyday and thinking of Freddie Kreuger....EEEEK, but staying in his house....and don't get me started on the spiders, bugs, mosquitos, blue bottle....burst pipes, creaky doors, noises upstairs...make me eeeek and I'm back home!



Anyway the week went well, most days I would go into work with Jack & Earls baby and back again in the afternoon unless they had an afternoon session, while the lean mean just fished, he saw sunrise and sunset from the same point on the pontoon, he fished 24/7 almost he may have reeled in a midnight a few nights as he had no bites, but fish he did, I sunbathed!



Earls baby, not a fisherman thought they were mad ( but now thinks I'm madder after spending too much time with me!)

I'm alright Jack, was gutted he couldn't spend more time fishing, well they won the game and he got saturday off....so he was up a sunrise...to cast out and get fishing.....next thing he's waking me up....



Er we've had an accident we need to get to the hospital...he'd hooked lean mean in the head! check out the photo...ouch!



so 3+ hours later and they're back...we (me and earls) spent the rest of the week ducking whenever jack was around!

Well the fishing was a success 92 carp between them in 6 day and 6 nights, that must be a record the average weight was high teens 'Lean mean's' biggest was 24lb and 'I'm alright jack's' was......well 'Lean mean'!!!! (about 180lb)

New arrival!

Little 'Earls Baby' has arrived, no I've not had a baby....I've had a teenager!

We have a new lodger...we never expected to get a lodger but this one is a special signing of 'I'm alrights' and we're on strict intructions from his parents to look after him! I think his Mum may linched us if he's not looked after!

Well I thought 'I'm alright' was hard to look after well now I have 2! 2 bowls in the sink in the morning, 2 cups, 2 bottles of water left on the sides....and don't get me started on the state of the room, I don't even go in there, the blinds stay shut! goodness knows whats growing in there...well it could be worse he puts the seat down! is v polite and has only just commented on the fact ....I'm mad! took him a week!

When 'Jack' said a 19 year old was coming to stay I was worried, bit he has been fun, he's kept 'I'm alright' busy watching the Euros and playing 'call of duty', thus leaving me free to play on Flickr and my blogg! happy days
He eats all is food (though we have threatned with sending him to his room if he didin't hee hee)
he doesn't have wild parties (we'd ground him if he did!)
He does have hobbit feet, but all althletes do (aparently)

I have turned into a Mum though! have you eaten enough, have you eaten tonight? have you got suntan lotion on? make sure you drink plenty of water, will he be alright on his own? are you ok???? how are you finding it here? do you need any washing doing? help yourself to anything, don't be shy....

Oh my! the little hobbit has been fun, but he moves out soon and then the inlaws arrive...for a month, he will come back and visit, and I'll feed him up!!!

Off out now to the game (hopefully a win) and for a few Cosmos with 'I'm alright' probably tears later as 2 drinks and I'm drunk such a lightweight!

Turtle days....that'll have off your finger that will!

On one of our regular jollys out to Sodus Point we encountered this little chap....



And me with my ...I've got to take a photo of everything hopped out of the car - well it was blocking the road and was in danger...or was I in danger?

So I take a few photographs and try and get it to move by standing close (in sandals) hoping that it would got the other way, but this ballsey little character wasn't going anywhere so I shout to 'I'm alright jack' that I'm going to pick it up and move it, he said fine...be careful.

Just as I'm getting into position to grab it...a pickup goes past and the guy inside said 'you having trouble with that snapper?'
Erm yes, 'want help?' Oh that would be awfully kind (get out and help me 'I'm alright jack' !!!!!)



So out he gets with a broom and pushes it accross the road, well you would think it would be happy as we were helping it out of harms way but no it snapped and bit the broom and my was it fiesty, he wasn't a happy chappy but at least he's safe off the road, and wow did I have a lucky escape - could and would've taken my finger off aparently, my was I stupid!



Lucky - then the cops turn up! 'I'm alright soon gets out of the car to explain what we're doing! Aparently its mating season....well that explains everything...he wasn't going to budge he was on a booty call!

Burnt tongue!

Just popped in to let you know I burnt my tongue!

It was on a low calorie soup, so in a way probably quite fortunate as they never taste that great and it made me think about.....Guide camp.

Every year me and my sisters would go to Guide camp and we did girl guide kinds of things, treasure hunts, build shelters, create poems, plays and songs to sing by the campfire! AND cook all our food with a hand built fire, even breakfast, even in cold wet English weather with the use of firelighters, bleuugh makes me feel chilly thinking about it.

So the reason I think of this when I have burnt my tongue is that EVERY year on the first night the Guide leaders would cook heinz tomato soup on the campfire while we all sang songs (so weird) and EVERY year without fail I, along with many others burnt our tongues!

Well it helped, burnt beanfeasts always taste better with a burnt tongue, a way to survive camp food!!!!

Ahh guide camp those were the days!!

This was how it first started, I came home to my place in the UK and this met me at the door, I thought it was cute and arty and sooo him!

I photographed it and put it on my flickr account, now its gone up a notch.....

Darn shoes...

Now other people are blogging about his darn shoes....???



THEN the shoes kept being left and then it became a battle....why leave your shoes like this? they are never in the same place twice....but somewhere in the apartment they will be, abandoned!



Those darn shoes can be left anywhere, and everywhere, endering or annoying?

Good job I love him as this could tip me over the edge!



Also good is that he looks so darn cute in them, or else they would be in the charity bag by now!

Ask and ye shall get.

Boy it's hot, its gone up a notch 92 at the last check and although its only been like this for one day I'm already complaining!
Why is that? we complain when its cold, we complain when its hot!
I nearly ran someone over, it just gets silly on the roads, people drive badly people take their tops off, people walk in the road looking the other way!! silly man.

So because its so HOT my hair is a state, frizzy freaky mess! humidity + no hair straigteners (mine don't work here) oh and the fact I cut my own fringe (bangs) = BAD HAIR DAY, so I head over to the wonderful Wegmans to see if they have any products to help!
Standing infront of all the hair products I was stuck, row upon row of bottles how am I supposed to know which to buy, the man stacking the shelves asked if he could help, I said no, he's a man, he probably doesn't even use a particular shampoo, anyhow he starts talking ...where's your accent from its so cute is it Australian? yada yada, then as he leaves he says 'do you need any help finding anything?' so I think why not, my hairs a frizzy mess and I need something to help?
He goes straight over to 2 particular brands and says since its hotted up these are the ones that are being restocked the most and they say frizz ease! wow helpful!
Now I have relatively stright frizz free hair! - pays to ask!

My next outing was to get some sort of cooling equipment for the apartment as the ONE airconditioning unit we have only cools the lounge and the bedrooms are like sauna's.
So I trek down to Walmart at 9pm to have a browse, and while looking at the various fans from $15 to $75 I think, how am I supposed to choose, I mean I can't choose what clothes to wear, what to cook, what shampoo to buy! I'm just rubbish given a choice.
Then in walks a man with determination on his face, walks right up to the stand walks along and picks up his fan and starts to walk away, I asked 'how do you which one to buy?' ahh he'd checked them out earlier in another store and saw them working this one was the best! wow, so he even helped me with it into my trolley and said if I carried on talking he'd be handing out his number to me I was soooo cute! (even with frizzy hair -- i hadn'd used my new shampoo by then) - pays to ask again!

Another thought struck me when walking around Walmart at 9.30pm on a friday night with all those other people and their air cooling units and fans, after being offered a number, then a guy strikes up conversation about the fan in my trolley and another guy winked at me.....maybe if you are single the best place to come on a friday night is Walmart, and how easy is it to strike up a converation about a fan? got to be worth a try eh?

Awe take a look at us being silly....since I found Flickr, I have been rather annoying and have been taking photo's of everything, everything....and some of my photos have feature on other peoples blogs.....I'm famous, kinda!!!!

This time 'I'm alright Jack' was involved normally he just huffs, he hates his photo being taken! and I like to take photos, my little memories of my life.



This was all while eating HUGE ice creams, we had to hide in our shadows as they looked rude! oh the fun you can have with a camera!!!

Sex and the City

Hello!

Oh yippee went to see Sex and the city movie tonight, it was sooo good.

I got the girls together that I've met through 'I'm alrights' work and we shared Popcorn & twislers and have a laugh, a little tear and a jolly nice time.

Oh to have Carries Closet, and what's in it, those shoes.....

billy the big mouth bass

One of 'I'm alright Jacks' passions is BIG and it's for fishing, the only bigger passion is his job so 'freetime' from his job is taken up with FISHING.

So with a day off yesterday we headed off on a road trip....yeah roadtrip.....well any kind of driving in the US, when you come from England is a roadtrip.

We're off to the Pro Bass shop which is definately where you go on a day off? well all my days are days off, so what HE wants on a day off is what HE gets xxx I aim to please.
So we go to spend hour upon hour looking a fishing gear, oh my.....to be fair it is a fabulous shop, it has a large fish tank, and sometimes streams, stuffed animals (not so keen on those) Rocks and the whole shop is decked out with the most amazing decor, vintage fishing & hunting gear on the walls, floors ceilings etc!







Its a shop for all outdoorsy kind of thing, hunting fishing etc

If I knew the gadgets for fishing were this pretty I would've taken up fishing years ago!!!! they even have pink guns....not so sure about that!

Then we ended up at Skeneateles Village to eat, overlooking the beautiful lake what a view, and then we just wandered around the Village just soaking up the sun and atmosphere.



Check out my dinner now how am I supposed to eat that?



A great day, except a MAJOR diversion on the way back but it tooks us on a detour past a great Ice-cream stall, and one HUGE ice cream later and were home again, great road trip, can't wait for the next!



I told him to get small, can you believe this is a medium???
Mine wasn't much smaller! I'm gonna be HUGE Rochester HUGE!!!!

"I'm alright Jack' is still eating those darn macaroons, me I'm sick to my stomach at the sight of them,
think I went a little overboard on the 'look at me cooking up a storm in the kitchen'...I'm Baking!!!!
