Happy accidents sometime happen, we were in the below coffee place talking to some locals about the turtles and they recommended visiting an old Shaker farm.

Now I missunderstood and though the shakers were still there, but when we got there it seemed desserted, other than happy animals, so we piled on in and got chatting to a volunteer named Leo, he was walking a horse named Handsome (and he was!) around a pen getting him use to noise and weight.

He chatted to us and offered to show us around, AND MY what a fantastic place!

It was an old Shaker farm which was purchase when they were going to put a canal in between lake Ontario & Rochester (i think)
Anyway the canal never went ahead and the farm was offered back to the Shakers but they had already relocated.

So it fell into the hands of the present owners family, we met one of the family Griff who gave us a brief history, while sat on the most amazing 3 wheel bike with his two Doggies Sadie & Sophie, everyone was so friendly even the animals, farm & domestic!

Looking on was Bob the goat with a skin condition, he gets to wear a sweatshirt to help him! too cute.

Now the farm takes in animals in need, abandoned or if the owners can no longer look after them, they have a home here, it is such a lovely place you can go take a picnic, see the animals, just take a look at some of them below:
